This unique certification training package was developed in response to industry demand through a unique partnership between The Pennsylvania Commonwealth Institute and Bucks County Community College. All classes are six hours of instruction and have enrollment limited to 20 particpants.
Laboratory Safety Standards
Six hours of instruction with hands-on laboratory training earning the OSHA 29CFR1910.1450 certification.

Six hours of instruction earning OSHA 29CFR1910.1030 and DOT 49CFR172.700 certifications.

Hazard Communications & Respiratory Protection
Instruction with combined training on both the Hazard Communication Standard (Right To Know) and Respiratory Protection earning OSHA 29CFR1910.1200 & OSHA 29CFR1910.134 certifications.

Overview of Federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
With six hours of instruction, this course is designed to provide laboratory scientists and technicians with an overview of the Comprehensive Laboratory Improvements of 1988 (CLIA). Topics of discussion include: Overview of Regulation; Survey Process; Supervision Requirements; Types of CLIA Certificates; CLIA Testing Categories; Good Laboratory Practices (GLP); Quality Assessment Process; and Laboratory Director Responsibilities.

A six hour instructional cap-stone course earning the college Certificate of Competency in Bioscience Emergency Management and Continuity of Operations.

Regulatory Compliance for Security of BSL Level 1-3 Labs
With six hours of instruction, this course is designed to provide laboratory scientists and technicians with an overview of the basic security components for microbiological and biomedical laboratories. Topics of discussion include: Risk Assessment; Physical Security; Developing a Security Management Plan; Conducting Security Exercises; Staff Training; Community Risk Assessment; Information Security; Interaction with Bio-safety.
