Research on COVID-19
April 24, 2020 -The Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) community has numerous companies engaged in research and development associated with COVID-19. Additionally, scientists with the nonprofit Baruch S. Blumberg Institute, which manages the PABC, are working on several projects that show promise for preventing and treating COVID-19. Read more.
Hatch Biofund to Launch Impact Fund to Advance COVID-19
April 24, 2020 – Hatch Biofund Management LLC today announced that it was creating a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) in advance of the first close of their Hatch Biofund I venture fund slated for this summer. The SPV will be formed by calling in some of the Hatch Biofund I $50 million funding early, in order to provide capital to promising companies located in the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) that are working on therapeutics or diagnostics for the COVID-19 Virus. Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center’s Inaugural Vendor Expo a Success
February 7, 2020– The Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center held its first ever Vendor Expo on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Fourteen vendors participated in the lunch time expo with participation from over 100 attendees from the PABC and general public. Read more.

Senator Santarsiero, Representative Ullman Announce RACP Grant for Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center
August 1, 2019: State Senator Steve Santarsiero (D-10) and state Representative Wendy Ullman (D143) announced the award of a $500,000 state grant to the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center of Bucks County (PABC) through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. June 2019: The Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) is pleased to announce a partnership with Discovery Labs, which will bring PABC’s successful business incubator model to a second location within the new Discovery Labs campus in King of Prussia. Discovery Labs is redeveloping GlaxoSmithKline's one million square foot Upper Merion West Campus and Innovation at Renaissance in King of Prussia into the largest “coworking” ecosystem for healthcare, life sciences and technology-enabled companies in the country.
