Liver Disease, Physiology and Pathology
This intensive, one-day course, is intended for professional scientists, post doctoral fellows and advanced graduate students with an interest a comprehensive understanding of the physiology and medical management of liver function and disease. It will be taught by medical school clinical and research faculty. Liver and GI Track function and physiology, gross anatomy, micro and cellular anatomy, liver immunology, liver disease and diagnosis, imaging, biopsy and pathology and liver disease management including transplantation. This is not research colloquia. Rather, it is an instruction driven program in which the fundamentals of liver physiology and dysfunction are presented. Tuition is $900 and enrollment is limited to 25 participants. Hospitality and meals provided. Planned for early Fall, 2008.
One Day Medical School
This intensive one-day course covers every major core topic taken by medical students. Anatomy, pathology (with lab and demonstration experience), microbiology, immunology, pharmacology, physiology and physical assessment will be included. Course is taught by medical college faculty and intended for life science professionals, graduate students and post doctoral research fellows with an interest or responsibility for performing life science research and teaching. Faculty and medical schools, researchers in biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, immunology, will find this one-day program of instruction particularly useful.
